Community Guidelines

We are very proud that we are part of the book community and we love the community we are building here. With that in mind, we have some simple rules to protect our community space.

  1. Be nice!

We care about each and every one of our community members. We expect everyone to be nice, respectful and to treat others how you’d want to be treated. If you experience any issues with other members, please contact us at support@yourbookstore.co.uk. We take being nice very seriously!

  2. Be truthful!

When listing an item, please refer to our Condition Guide and ensure that you accurately reflect the condition of the book. There’s no problem with a book being in “Very Used” condition - it shows it has been loved! It is important that the buyer knows what they are buying. Include details of any wear and tear in the listing and snap some pics of anything of note.

  3. Send items asap

We know going to the post office is a chore, but we want to ensure that the circular book economy we are creating keeps moving on. Once a book has been bought, please try to send within 48 hours. If this timeframe is going to be an issue, we’d suggest messaging the buyer and agreeing to a timeframe that suits you both. Remember that funds won’t be released until the buyer has received the book, so it is in your interest to post as soon as possible.

Always keep your proof of postage in case anything goes wrong!

  4. Privacy and safety

Transactions initiated on Your Book Store should always remain on the platform. If another member suggests that the interaction or sale should continue off Your Book Store, please contact support@yourbookstore.co.uk. This is the for the safety and security of all our members.

We always recommend keeping your personal information safe and secure when online. If you see any suspicious behaviour on Your Book Store, please contact us at support@yourbookstore.co.uk.

  5. Enjoy!

We created Your Book Store as we love the reading community and wanted to help fellow readers find and sell books. We want to ensure used books can find loving new homes. We want to encourage discussion on books and for you to find members with similar interests. We want to help reading be a more sustainable past time. We want you to love Your Book Store as much as we do!
